Maybe I am crazy, but I am thinking of putting a Mustang 5.0 in Faye Valentine. For real. She needs an engine rebuild anyway (rather desperately), and I am not one to rebuild any motor back to stock specs. The Ford V8 would fit, just barely, is nearly as light as the B18 (with aluminum heads), and is very cheap to put together with a lot of HP. If I go this route I face a lot of fabrication to make everything work, plus flack from classic Volvo purists, but in the end mine would be the glory. And for most people, I would be the owner of the fastest Volvo they would encounter in their entire lives. So of course, those being the stakes, I simply have no choice...

Okay. Well we talked about this, and now I feel kinda guilty for encouraging you...but, I do want you to think hard...remember the nova....it will likely be (no, it WILL be) messy and difficult and there will be MANY dark days without motivation or money. If you choose to go ahead with this you will ALWAYS have to keep before you the goal (fastest 142 on the planet) and be vastly patient for a couple years, which will be hard. You'll probably be towing the project on a trailer up to Oregon if you do end up moving back.

On the other hand, this is your car and your glory, so, go for it! I'll help where I can, if you need an extra pair of hands, don't hesitate to call.
